Hey Samer! I just read through this entire blog. Thanks for taking the time to write about your 2009 WRX. Sorry to hear you had so many troubles with it .. I love my 2005 Forester XT 5-speed, but it looks like I need to be weary on the 265 horse WRXes..

Hi Dima and Cata_o

Thanks for the note. I am not planning on updating it, I really dont have much to say, if someone wants to keep it up and blog about their experiences I am happy to give people login's to it. I guess sooner or later I will eventually have to find something to do with it.

So who wants to blog? let me know :)

Hi Samer, this is indeed a heart-breaking story - but at least you do have a really good story to tell!

I guess you will not update the blog anymore - are you thinking about transferring it to somebody who will continue documenting the history of these awful... I mean, awfully fun machines?

Samer, I want to thank you for your effort in maintaining this site. It was an invaluable source of information for me. My WRX, made in March 2009, is still up and running smoothly. If you want to lease I would suggest you take a look at the BMW. They try hard to dump the last 2011 3 series and they have amazing deals. Just make sure the insurance is reasonable for you. Good luck!

After owning 5 Subaru's, all standard, over the past 20 years I finally bought a new 2010 WRX. I did put the pedal to the floor on a few occasions but never launched it. At 29,000 miles I noticed the clutch slip when passing on the highway, Took it to Subaru and was told that it was self correcting. Now at 31,000 miles The clutch slips horribly and has been in my garrage since. Its not covered under warrenty and will cost me $1200.00 to fix. Now COME ON! The brochure for the car boldly states that the clutch is "bullet proof." I think I would like it better if it worked as a clutch. Maybe I can save the old one and make a vest or something. I'm a Subaru Fan for sure, but man am I pissed. My second Subaru, a Loyal wagon had 400,000 miles on it when it finnaly bit the dust as a field car. My 99 2-door 2.5rs never had a problem right up until I sold it for $2000 over KBB at 180,000 miles. The 2010 WRX in my garage cost a good deal more than any of my previous Ru's and sits useless.

I owned the 08 WRX, then traded it for the 09.
I finally get the car. And I love it.
They both handled well and had great power,
they are just set up for different things is all.
The interior isnt cheap plastic, its light weight plastic.
And the 5 door is sexy looking.
Subie understands that people modify their cars, and why.
Youve got to give Subie credit.
They modified the Imprezza for us into the WRX and the STI.
And they sell it covered by a warranty.
You can push any car too far.
The more powerful ones can get there sooner.
FYI.
I let my dealer do all my work, and they havent let me down yet.

Sorry but a Subaru being driven TOO HARD? I thought they were built to be driven hard? I have an EP3 Type R and its absolutely bullet proof, clutch will need replacing soon i think (i dread to think of cost with the subframe needing to be dropped out) but still, performance cars are meant to be just that, performance, not supermarket daily runs. Subaru i think are blowing hot and cold recently with their excuses to customers.
