I feel bad driving on my winter tires, the weather is warm enough and its time to get some summer shoes on. Since the summer tires that came with car are worn off, I need to buy a new set
So the question is. well really two questions
1) Performance vs All Season
2) What brand
What do you think, I have no clue when it comes to tires
1. Mandatory performance! All seasons are not up to this car.
2. There is no definitive answer here, it depends on what you want and how you drive. I’d say Bridgestone Potenza but I’m sure that other guys may have other suggestions.

Bridgestone Potenza RE-11, to be more precise.

Summer tires for sure. This car needs summer tires if you are every going to drive it near the limit. And, that’s what a WRX is for, right?
I have had very good experience with the BFGoodrich g-force sport tires. Very good price, attractive tread design, and good handling. They should last you about 20K miles.

Yea you gotta get the horses running once in while don’t you
Thanks for the info on BFGoodrich, will check them out
Was wondering if there was a place somewhere online that sells them at a reasonable price

In Canada, you can check 1010tires.com
In US, tirerack.com
It should be cheaper at tirerack all included

Depends what you want out of your tires Samer.
You have a winter set, so no need for all-seasons. You don’t want to buy the OEM Dunlops, too expensive.
If you’re looking for performance, check out the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs. Very highly recommended by the weekend racer crowd (like myself!), great wet performance and much cheaper than the Bridgestones that are really their only competition. The BFG’s don’t even get a look in by the way. Check out the reviews listed on Tirerack.
If you’re not overly concerned on outright performance, then shop around summer Dunlops, Bridgestones, Falkens, Federals and Kumho’s with a higher treadwear rating.

Samer,
no clue if you decided what to buy yet or not, but i wrote up a long post and lost it before so this will be short and sweet.
My last car i tracked and had Michelin Pilot Sports on it, loved them, hated the price. I needed 2 new tires, but instead of going with new Michelins, i bought 4 Riken Raptor ZR tires, 99 bucks each here in Halifax. They were every bit as good on the track, and quieter on the highway then the Michelins.
Same treadwear rating, same stats. Also they are made by Michelin, just not in North America (china i think). I’m picking up a wrx 265 this weekend, and as soon as i need new tires, i’m buying some Rikens. They are that great for the price.

I have not bought anything yet, I have been busy/lazy bad combo. Still driving on the snow tires, which is bad for the tires I guess, mind you, its been cold, but cant leave it like this forever
Thanks for the info, you should post the link to your blog post here, it will be helpful
