Does the 2009 WRX come with a Windsheild Washer Fluid Warning?

It did not hit me until this week, i was driving, and needed to clean off my window. I hit the spray button and nothing. I thought hey, wait a min, does the WRX come with a warning light that tells you when the water levels are low? It does not look like it, i pulled up and filled up the tank and off I went.

Those sensors are cheap to install, most cars have them, why the WRX does not is beyond me. Anyone know if there is a good reason why Subaru thinks a low water level warning is a bad idea?

I was a little surprise too to find out that a 34K$ car doesnt have windsheild washer fluid warning light. On the 5 doors you have a little warning as the rear window fluid stop before the front one…

I agree and I am also surprise that a 34k$ car cannot have a hitch as we can put it on a Chevy Aveo or a Toyota Yaris !

That is because your 34k car has the power and acceleration of a 60k car. Somethings got to give. How many cars under 100k can do a 0-60 mph under 5 seconds? That’s right, not that many and the ones that do, cost a whole lot more than your 265.

Agree and disagree, Agree on the price, and agree on something has to give, but if you are driving a fast car, you better be able to see out of the window, and having no water in not great especially when the snow is melting.

That indicator cost nothing to install, I bet its not more than 5 bucks to have them install it. But just in case its not, here is a list of things I happy to give up in exchange.

    1) Do you need a 6 Disk CD changer, that Sound system is horrible anyway, give me one CD and I am happy
    2) Does a performance car need heated seats?
    3) Is that sun roof that opens a grand total of 6 inches really that important?

    Do you Agree?

    Hey Samer,

I get your point. As silly as it may seem, 5 dollars is a big amount when multiplied many times over. If this is such a big issue to you, I suggest you write Subaru about it or answer their surveys and add your comments about it. Believe it or not, many decisions such as the one about not putting a washer fluid and giving a 6 cd changer, often comes from client surveys and/or comments. As to decide which will please most of their costumer base and affect it negatively the least. Just like anything else though, nothing can be perfect and no matter what they decide, they will always have complaints.

For the last part of your message, I agree on the radio, I did not, still do not care about it. Although, not having the heated seats would have made me look elsewhere. The sunroof I like too. Especially when lapping, I don’t like having the side windows open. I get the impression that debris get inside from them and also exhaust fumes from other vehicles find their in too. The sunroof though allows the heat to go out w/o these inconveniences. I like it. A/C just requires too much power, it is not fun on the track (it is not allowed to have the side windows partially open on the track, they have to be completely open or closed.)

B.T.W thanks for the reply, I wrote you this winter concerning the rod bearing issue. Your answer pleased me and I went ahead and got the car.

    Cheers,

    Yann
