So i got snow tires today, took a while to find some, i guess tires are a hot item these days especially we where are because in Quebec, snow tires are mandatory, so seems like there is a shortage. In any case, got them installed, and oh my, what a difference, I am glad I got them on.

Samer, any recommendations for snow tires for the wrx since i’m sure you did the research thought you might be able to save me some times if i decide to get them? Did you keep them on the original Wheels or bought seperate wheel and tire combo, if so what size did you go for and tire ?

I bought mine from Deals 4 Wheels, I paid $150 for each tire and that is cheapest i could find anywhere. All brand names where in the 230 – 250 range. I put them on the original rims becuase they did not have rims my size. I have to check on the brand when i get home, I don’t have the car and need to see the receipt, I dont remember the make, it was a Chinese tire that was a spin of the Micheline XIce. The tires did well for the couple days i drove the car.

I got steel 16″ wheels and Michelin X-ice 2 tires for the 09 WRX. The Tire Rack mounted & balanced them well, and drive almost as good as the factory tires. Only difference is that the snow tires feel a bit “softer” when handling. Road noise is about the same as with the OEM tires. The tires did good in deep snow, haven’t used them much on icy surfaces though. Delivered price for the tires was ~$800, but well worth it.
