I just read an article posted by the Autotrader in the UK that did a good review of the WRX 265. Don’t be thrown off by the models and the competition, its a bit different out there. It looks interesting for those of us who drive on the right side of the road to look at the interior picture of the WRX where the steering wheel is on the right side of the car.
In the interest of remaining on topic, Autotrader clocked the WRX 265 and I quote. “Acceleration from 0-60mph takes 6.1 seconds, which is best-in-class performance”. The car reached a top speed of 130 mpg.
0 – 60 in 6.1 is pretty fast folks, I feel it when i drive it, the car just whips you back into your seat and goes. I can’t wait to be able to get back in it and drive it.
0 – 60 in 6.1 seconds is very excellent, given that a 2009 Porsche Carrera does it in 4.5 at 4 times the price, and faster than a BMW 330i, which takes 6.5 seconds to get to 60.
The review isn’t about the WRX265. It’s about the WRX.
I own an 07 WRX, and the 0-60 time is around 5.7 seconds.
The 08 WRX is supposed to be quicker.
This means that the WRX265 should be quicker still.
Trust me, man, your car, if you do, in fact, own a WRX 265, should do 0-60 in less than 6 seconds.
Cheers.

Hey, just found this site. I have an 2009 that I just bought. I traded my 2004. Car and driver had the 2002 version (227 hp) clocked at 5.4. They admitted to a hefty clutch dump to do that. The 2009 C&D clocked at 4.7. It was actally clocked faster than the 2008 STI. Now, a huge factor in the numbers are tires. 2009 is the first version with summer rubber only. The dunlops are sticky tires at that. But 4.7 0-60 and 1/4 miles times in the mid 13s is a FAST car. There isn’t much else in the price range that is competitive with those numbers. The performance numbers are close to M3 numbers and that car will cost $60k.
